Who really has the "TRUTH"???
by architect ineven if all else looks bad, due to the fact that jw's preach the goodnews of the kingdom in harmony with matt 28, doesn't this make them the true religion since technically no other religion can make this claim?

Hello there:
There is nobody who has the 'truth', not even the apostle Paul. He had only partial knowledge..Lookie here:
ICor. 13:1 NAV "If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing symbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. ..If there are prophesies, they will be brought to nothing, if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing. For we know partially and we prophesy partially, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. .......So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
Bottom line: When the perfect comes...Jesus, our knowledge or the JW's knowledge will look like nothing....So knowledge is not what we should strive for..but LOVE, faith and hope.
The JW's put knowledge up as the way to life...but it is NOT.....LOVE is, and they are sorely lacking in that!!!! So they don't have what it takes...Like the brother said.. on one of the 1st responses...
Disfellowshipping is not LOVE>>>>>>>>
Hope this helps somewhat.... Yours, STAR

Hi amazing and Lil: I really liked both of your points about the holy spirit and religion. I have been out since Sept.. and have visited a church anymore but I'm not going to attend .. I don't need to. The doctrines confuse me.. I may change my mind. But I am meeting in homes, mine and theirs, and studying. This is good for me. Amazing: I think you are right about the cults, impead Jeh's holy spirit from being there. That's why the WT hasn't had any new light since Russell...sure new rules and corrections..but not new light. Good evening to you both.

Has Jehovah forgiven the WTBS for its errors and moved on?
by architect insince our god is a merciful god, can we assume by now that the gb has asked jehovah for forgiveness of its mess, miss calculations, the un thing and so forth and he's forgiven them?

Hey there,
No, don't think so... I believe the WT is the 'evil slave' spoken about in Math. 24:48 NAV
"But if that wicked servant says to himself, 'My master is long delayed, and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with drunkards, the servant's master will come on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour and will punish him severely and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth."

What does 'accurate knowledge' have to do with worship and praise?
by AK - Jeff innot that the jdubs have the 'accurate knowledge' anyway.
but it seems to me that if i was the creator i would appreciate all who showed appreciation in song and word, no matter the level of accuracy.
just what the hell does that have to do with praising god when you think of it?.

Dear Jeff,
You know, I've been having the same conflict about the 'knowledge' thing... The GB has fudged this scripture..apparently, because every other bible says different.
John 17:3 "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you and your son."
All other bibles: "This means everlasting life, their knowing you and your son."
There are alot of ways to get to know God and Jesus beside reading the bible..I wholeheartly agree.
I Cor. 13:8 "Love never fails....If there are prophesies, they will be brought to nothing;if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing." So in the end, Jeff, knowledge and prophesies won't mean diddley squat. Right? Another words,
Knowledge is not what God will be looking at, in the end.
Also there is the idea, that we can't earn our way to God..rather it's a gift..

Dear Jim,
I was looking up these scriptures in the NIV and NAV.. They seem to give some insite as to what was different about the holy spirit that Jesus sent down and the prior.
John 15:26 NAV "When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning."
John 15:26 NIV "When the Counselor comes whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning."
Jim, the NIV seems more accurate here, when it says the spirit of God will testify about Jesus.. Maybe Jesus had input as to what was sent..
John 16:7 NIV "But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgement:"
John 16:7 NAV "But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go. For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.........."
Jim, this is the one about, the spirit not being able to come unless Jesus dies and sends him to the apostles.
John 16:12 NAV "I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you."
John 16:13 NIV is the same here.
So, Jim, So it appears that the spirit is God's spirit, not a person, that speaks on his own. It also seems to say, the spirit can teach is a more effective way, than Jesus speaking to them verbally. The spirit seems to be God's spirit which was given to Jesus..to do with what I wants with.. What do you think of these scriptures????

Skeeter, I went to Catholic Mass too.. Very nice, really. And liked the fact that everyone could do the bread and wine thang...and the candles were pretty. I really think the church has changed..and have pushed alot of the Mary, saint worship..and pope infallibility..into the background... So not too bad..

Dear Amazing and Lil,
The thing that is confusing..is this: I know the holy spirit has always been with God's people, so what was special about the holy spirit that Jesus would send down after he died? Was it a combination of God's and Jesus' spirit.. Is that what made it different? And the prior, being God's spirit alone? As it couldn't come and live with us until Jesus died and went to heaven..

I have a different idea..lately,
The holy spirit, could only come down after Jesus died; is what he said. So the holy spirit must be a combination of God's and Jesus' spirit...

only begotten Son?
by UpAndAtom inif jesus was the only begotten son of god, who then was adam and melchizadek's father?
has this question ever been raised before?
-
Star Moore
Hey, I read on another sight that the word 'only' could be interpretated as 'unique'.. like this:
God's ONLY begotten son or
God's UNIQUELY begotten son
Makes more sense the second way. As God has a lot of sons.
